The Adkerson School of Accountancy is a professional school which combines a general education, broad business administration, and accounting education. The specialized curriculum in accounting has been designed to meet the greater demand for accountants resulting from the development of information technology, more complicated taxation and governmental control measures, and growing public consciousness of the need for more accurate control methods in exiting businesses. The program is also an excellent foundation for the study of law. This program of study will provide you with the basic preparation for positions in public, private, or governmental accounting. You will also have the opportunity to develop your leadership and interpersonal skills by participating in an internship program. Students meeting certain academic criteria are given the opportunity to join Beta Alpha Psi, which is sponsored by the Adkerson School of Accountancy.
