SUBJECT:     MBA Comprehensive Examination

DESCRIPTION OF POLICY:

The course MGT 8122 (Strategy Field Study), the capstone course for the MBA program, shall constitute the MBA comprehensive examination.  A grade of ‘B’ or better in this course is required for passage of the MBA comprehensive examination.

 

DESCRIPTION OF PROCESS FOR CHANGING POLICY:

Majority vote by the College of Business and Industry Graduate Faculty.

 

DESCRIPTION OF RELATED PROCEDURE:

If a grade of C or less is obtained in MGT 8122, the student must repeat the course and to take an oral comprehensive examination.  The oral examination is to be scheduled through the Office of Graduate Studies in Business and administered by a committee consisting of three faculty members in the College of Business and Industry.  The committee is to be chaired by the instructor of MGT 8122 or the director of Graduate Studies in Business.  The chair will select the two remaining committee members.

 

REVIEW OF POLICY/PROCEDURE:

This COBI-AOP will be reviewed at least every five years by the Graduate Policies Committee at the request of the Graduate Director with request for revision presented to the College of Business and Industry Graduate Faculty.
