SUBJECT: Research & Teaching Tools Requirement of the
Ph.D. Program

DESCRIPTION OF POLICY:
The Ph.D. program requires a
minimum of eighteen (18) graduate credit hours in the research and teaching
area. Six (6) of the eighteen hours are
specified as BQA 8443 Statistical
Analysis for Business Decision Making and BQA 9533 Advanced Statistics for
Business Decisions. Three (3) of the
hours must be a “teaching” related course.
None of the eighteen (18) hours may be counted toward fulfilling the
major, support area or a substitute minor (one that takes the place of a
support area). However, the remaining nine (9) hours may be counted toward an
optional minor (one taken in addition to the support area).
DESCRIPTION OF PROCESS
FOR CHANGING POLICY:
Majority vote by the College
of Business and Industry Graduate Faculty.
DESCRIPTION OF RELATED
PROCEDURE:
No more than nine (9) hours
including the “teaching” course may be taken outside of the College of Business
and Industry.
REVIEW OF
POLICY/PROCEDURE:
This COBI-AOP will be reviewed at least every five years by the Graduate Policies Committee at the request of the Graduate Director with request for revision presented to the College of Business and Industry Graduate Faculty.
