DESCRIPTION OF POLICY:
All Preliminary (Written) Examinations
must be taken within 36 months after beginning Ph.D. course work if the
appropriate course work is available.
DESCRIPTION OF PROCESS
FOR CHANGING POLICY:
Majority vote by the College
of Business and Industry Graduate Faculty.
DESCRIPTION OF RELATED
PROCEDURE:
Failure to take the
preliminary examination within this time period may be viewed as unsatisfactory
progress. Extenuating circumstances
may be cause for being excused. The student
may apply to be excused to the Director
of Graduate Studies in Business via the provided written excuse form. The acceptability of the excuse will be
determined by the Director of Graduate Studies in Business.
REVIEW OF
POLICY/PROCEDURE:
This COBI-AOP will be reviewed at least every five years by the Graduate Policies Committee at the request of the Graduate Director with request for revision presented to the College of Business and Industry Graduate Faculty.
