SUBJECT:     Retake Standard for Qualifying Examination

 

DATE:                        May 8, 2006

 

DESCRIPTION OF POLICY:

Any Qualifying Examination which is failed must be retaken at the next examination offeringTwo failures of a given Qualifying Examination result in automatic termination of the student’s program. 

 

DESCRIPTION OF PROCESS FOR CHANGING POLICY:

Majority vote by the College of Business and Industry Graduate Faculty.

 

DESCRIPTION OF RELATED PROCEDURE:

Students who fail the Qualifying Examination must register to retake the exam at the next offering.  Failure to retake an examination during this period may be viewed as unsatisfactory progress.  Extenuating circumstances may be cause for being excused beyond this time period.  The student may apply to be excused to the Director of Graduate Studies in Business in writing.  The acceptability of the excuse will be determined by the Director of Graduate Studies in Business.

 

REVIEW OF POLICY/PROCEDURE:

This COBI-AOP will be reviewed at least every five years by the Graduate Policies Committee at the request of the Graduate Director with request for revision presented to the College of Business and Industry Graduate Faculty.
