SUBJECT: Reporting
Qualifying and Preliminary Examination Results

DESCRIPTION OF POLICY:
The grading of qualifying and
preliminary examination should be achieved within three weeks of the test
dates; the results are to be reported to students in writing as soon as
possible; and faculty members should not disclose results prior to the official
notifications.
DESCRIPTION OF PROCESS
FOR CHANGING POLICY:
Majority vote by the College
of Business and Industry Graduate Faculty.
DESCRIPTION OF RELATED
PROCEDURE:
The results of the
examinations are to be transmitted to the Office of Graduate Studies in
Business by the academic area administering the examination upon completion of
the grading. The Director of Graduate
Studies in Business will inform the student, in writing, of the results and any
recommended action in the case of failures.
This information is also placed in the student’s file, and copied to
members of the student’s Graduate Program Committee and the unit housing the
academic area.
REVIEW OF
POLICY/PROCEDURE:
This COBI-AOP will be reviewed at least every five years by the Graduate Policies Committee at the request of the Graduate Director with request for revision presented to the College of Business and Industry Graduate Faculty.
