Standard for Comprehensive (Oral) Examination

DESCRIPTION OF POLICY:
Ph.D. students must attempt
their Comprehensive (Oral) Examination within six months after all course work
is completed, and all Qualifying and Preliminary Examinations are passed.

FOR CHANGING POLICY:
Majority vote by the College
of Business and Industry Graduate Faculty.
DESCRIPTION OF RELATED
PROCEDURE:
Failure to take the
examination during this period may be viewed as unsatisfactory progress. Extenuating circumstances may be cause for
being delayed. The student may apply to
the Director of Graduate Studies in Business to be delayed in writing. The acceptability of the request will be
determined by the Director of Graduate Studies in Business.
REVIEW OF
POLICY/PROCEDURE:
This COBI-AOP will be reviewed at least every five years by the Graduate Policies Committee at the request of the Graduate Director with request for revision presented to the College of Business and Industry Graduate Faculty.
