SUBJECT:     Retake Standard for Comprehensive (Oral) Examination

 

DATE:                        May 4, 2000

 

DESCRIPTION OF POLICY:

A student who fails the Comprehensive Examination cannot apply to re-sit for the examination until a period of four months has elapsed from the date of the original examination.  Two failures on the Comprehensive Examination result in automatic termination of the student’s program.

 

DESCRIPTION OF PROCESS FOR CHANGING POLICY:

The above policy is that of the MSU Office of Graduate Studies and is subject to change by appropriate action of the Graduate Council.  Only the college specific aspects are subject to majority vote of the College of Business & Industry Faculty.

                       

DESCRIPTION OF RELATED PROCEDURE:

The examination is scheduled by the student through the Office of Graduate Studies in Business at least two weeks prior to the date desired for examination.

 

REVIEW OF POLICY/PROCEDURE:

This COBI-AOP will be reviewed at least every five years by the Graduate Policies Committee at the request of the Graduate Director with request for revision presented to the College of Business and Industry Graduate Faculty.
